Charlie Hall is new to this reviewer and I read part way through the review process that Charlie wrote one of my current favourite Christian songs: "Salvation". This powering rocker opens the CD and sets the tone for much of what follows: a great collection of "intimate and prophetic" songs in the vein of Matt Redman and Delirious?. "Intimate" doesn't have to mean "introspective", and the indie-rock style of the latter band is much in evidence here, as is a similar willingness to experiment with electronica and string arrangements. Charlie shares with Matt R a real heart after God which comes out clearly in his songs, and
this reviewer is left wishing that some UK worship conference would invite this guy over! Until then, this CD will do just fine.
