Hurrah! At long last, another biggie from Cindy! After last year's storming 'Under The Waterfall', Cindy comes up trumps again with this delightful new offering. The songs are strong, powerful and passionate, but they're punctuated by ever-so-gentle strings. Sometimes it veers off into the symphonic, alongside the choppy, chirruppy acoustic. For the record, it's produced by the exceptionally talented Brent Bourgeouis and it's musically watertight. Cindy's inimitable tones soar high and her piquant voice sits like a dream on the orchestrated bits. "God Is Love" is a simple yet impassioned plea to people who are looking elsewhere for the truth and for love. If you're looking for a shade of the blues, tune in to "They Say It's Love" with its old fashioned bluesy swing feel, plus a twangy banjo thrown in for good measure! The title track "Listen" had me spellbound and thinking I was listening to Margaret Becker! It's a real groover with a hook that pulled me in and made me listen! Plenty of piano on "The Promise", then a clarinet, strings and I'm in Heaven. It's orchestral, acoustic, it rocks, it grooves - it happens!
