Here's one for those of you who like your rock to be with screaming guitars, big rock harmonies, energy and no little edge. DecembeRadio, already written about in Cross Rhythms, cite their influences as the likes of Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd from the world of classic rock. The music though is very definitely contemporary. Josh Reeby gives a really strong vocal performance supported by a tight musical backing that drives the songs along, without ever resorting to self-indulgent soloing. One of the exceptions to the tempo is the powerful bluesy ballad "Drifter" with soulful vocal delivery and organ sound. There are songs of worship, like "Live And Breathe" and generally a call to know God, right from the opening "Can't Hide". Stand out track? "Love Found Me (Love's Got A Hold)" reminiscent to these ears of Paul Rodgers and Free. Get those air guitars out. Excellent CD boys!
