Danish-born Diana was a member of The London Community Gospel Choir, having moved to London in her 20s to study under David and Carrie Grant. After developing under the umbrella of the choir and working with the likes of Noel Robinson, we now have Diana's first solo album. From the funky grove of the opener "You Alone", the simply beautiful "I Don't Want To Waste Another Day" (with piano from the clearly talented Tim Oliver) to the blues-influenced "Awake My Soul" (with some tasty guitar playing from Pat West), Diana proves herself to be a clear communicator and a highly talented singer. Special mention also for crisp production from Carl Standbridge (who has worked with Beverley Knight). Another reviewer stated that "Diana and the musicians cook up a powerful stew of gospel, soul and funk." I wouldn't disagree.
