There is something particularly haunting and other worldly about the folk music of Botswana and this wonderful album, recorded by Steve Butler (the Lies Damned Lies man) in Scotland in 2003, brings out the full lilting wistfulness of Duncan's voice and guitar. The accompanying musicians are Scottish and give some of the tracks display a "Euro African sound" as violin and mandolin interweave with delightful rhythms on Senyatso compositions like "O Monate Mmino Wa Gago Africa" and "Chiko Sa Dxham". If you caught Duncan at Greenbelt last year you will definitely want this little gem.
