I have a lot of time for bands like Empire Nation who have developed their craft through the long exhausting haul of ministry events and Christian fests. Their sound on this album is both organic and sonically satisfying while their lyrics speak of passion for the lover of their souls. This is just the kind of band the Church needs to support and lovers of uplifting Christian music need to buy. My particular favourites are "Fire Fall Down", "You're Not Alone" and "My Soul Was Chosen" and with a strong lead singer in Ed Bird, a surprise appearance by Philippa Hanna on "You're Not Alone" and some clever production from Andy Baker this adds up to a demonstration that even in a British Christian scene clogged with far too many worship albums and a mainstream arena showing an ever increasing number of bands prepared to hide their faith behind layers of poetic metaphor, there is still room for in-your-face proclamation delivered with passion and rock music attitude.
