As simply Erin, this Devon-based singer/songwriter had a surprise turntable hit on the Cross Rhythms stations with her lingering "But You Say" from her debut album. Recently married, Erin returns with her second album and plumps for a fuller pop acoustic sound than her almost skeletal debut. It's an absolute delight. The sound is bang up to the minute, with a subtle yet innovative use of arrangement and instrumentation that cleverly augments Matthews' sweet yet never saccharine vocals. With a sound that is both soothing yet exciting and quality songwriting, this is an album from an artist clearly moving on up.
