I met these guys in America and immediately liked their simple rock sound topped off by Lacey Mosley's ferocious vocals. Drawing comparisons with Evanescence and yet managing to make a noise that is rawer, Mosley draws on her own difficult past including growing up in an alcohol troubled household. She creates songs that don't skirt around life's more difficult bits whilst also leaving the listener with some hope to temper things. Songs range from the explosive opener "I'm So Sick" to the insistent rocky groove of the more melodic "Perfect", the tribute to Columbine victim "Cassie" and the incendiary yet melodic "I'm Sorry". Packed full of angst, the band connect perfectly with their target audience with enough emotion piled into this rock to create something promising. It may not be original but it's nicely executed and this debut plonks them on the map. But although there are some brilliant flashes and I've been playing a few cuts to death on Rimmerama, there is not enough that is truly original to make this a classic.
