Five track EP from Australian band with a penchant for crunchy guitars and a competent alternative sound. The opening title cut introduces the band with a punchy power chorded riff that will delight lovers of the alternative sound but which maintains enough of a poppy tune to be reminiscent of power pop. "Speak My Mind" takes the same fresh musical sound but adds a semi-rapped rock vocal which works well! "Soul", as its title suggests is built around a bit of rock'n'soul groove with a moody little vocal over the top! "In Your Name" slows the pace a little with an acoustic strum and plaintive vocal which builds into a hooky chorus with plenty of harmonies etc. "Without You Love" closes this EP and I'm left feeling that the problem with 'Fuel' isn't the band's musicianship but simply that the EP fails to really explode into life. This is steady and competent but going nowhere. Fuel need more fire.
