Keillor's the author of Lake Woebegone Days and subsequent books about the downhome ways of small town rural America. If you enjoyed those you'll really love this. The quartet began as a way to while away time while waiting to go on stage at the Prairie Home Companion show. The line up is Keillor himself, Kate MacKenzie (also known as Sheila, The Christian Jungle Girl) and Robin and Linda Williams. Those into acoustic country will know the Williams' many fine small label albums, and are currently with Sugarhill. The quartet handles a selection of well known gospel songs and are a superb vocal combo, some acapella, some with a small band including Chet Atkins. The live programme is linked by Keillor's unique humourous monologues and the material is handled with great affection but maybe not a vast amount of conviction. Great fun, wonderfully atmospheric, a joyous celebration of the man's skewed, delightful talent.
