'Suddenly' is a collection of songs performed by a Salvationist from Derbyshire. The set includes covers of well know songs by Tim Hughes ("Light Of The World" and "Beautiful One"), Darlene Zschech ("I Will Run To You") and Paul Field as well as lesser known songs that are personally important to Rose. Gary has a pleasant voice and the two Hughes compositions that bookend either end of the album are the most uptempo arrangements on the disc; the remaining 11 songs being fairly slow and primarily piano-led. The album is well produced, if a little bit soft-focused. Gary's mellifluous voice is matched by the layered keys and intelligent programming. Gary clearly has a strong vocal talent for and there are some lovely songs on here. However, the middle section of the album needs more variety in tempo and arrangement. Not for all tastes, but I'm sure some will really enjoy it.
