For a guy who wrote such a powerful worship album as 'The Power Of Your Love', Geoff Bullock's recent work has noticeably veered toward the middle of the road. This project goes further, and infringes on the ambient. Loads of swirling synths and elaborate (and lengthy) arrangements mean that this is one on which you have to concentrate to appreciate. Several of the songs have made an appearance on earlier releases: "The Heavens Shall Declare", "Have Faith In God", "Blessing, Honour" and "I Surrender"; here they are part of a broader canvas and have been extended to suit. Geoff's sleevenotes act as an aid to "an intimate and personal journey in worship" (to quote the subtitle on the front of the sleeve), and they put the songs into context, as well as giving an insight into the thoughts behind each song. Not an album you can dip into (only three tracks out of 11 are less than five and three quarter minutes long), but persevere and you'll get blessed.
