On the opener, a delicious sinuous groove is propelled by a synth bass while the two talented male vocalists who constitute God’s Choice make with the soulful emoting. The effect is instantaneous. Next up a Latin-tinged title song with a jerky synth beat and a nag-at-you vocal hook. By the time track three “You” with clipped vocal chorus over an insidious funky rhythm I’m making a mental note to do a web search to find out more about these guys. Unfortunately, that didn’t bring any more information. But I can say that this is one of the freshest R&B gospel albums of the year and Awake Records are to be congratulated for bringing it to the attention of UK album buyers.
