This three-track EP from the Philadelphia-based singer, songwriter and producer begins in straightforward fashion with the worshipful "He Reigns" setting the scene for a brief collection of mid-tempo tunes which don't push the boat out too far stylistically or lyrically. Jolly's soft tones sit in front of an undemanding musical backdrop which, if nothing else, allows his Scripture-inspired words to come through loud and clear. Although the overly-wordy closing track "The Valley" is a bit of a misfire, this EP is a pleasing enough affair - even if there's not a lot of variety on offer.
