Aiming at the more conservative listener, Joel And Ray sing a collection of songs arranged for soprano and bass duo. Although there is a definite hint of country style in some tracks, 'Behold The Man' is not for those who enjoy musical variety and challenge. A rather bland collection of songs is not improved by the dull harmonies and a lack of creative musical arrangement. Mature listeners who cringe at hip-swinging rock and pop gospel may find this album more to their taste, but I found it irritating even as background music. The collection is slightly improved by the livelier "Spend A Little Time In Prayer" and "Like A Star Of The Morning", but despite being spiritually solid and to the point, this album would not be welcome in many music lover's collections.
