Cousins Dax and Jurny (LPG) are, like Soup The Chemist, part of “the living memory of hip-hop, defenders against the media reinforced mediocrity and materialism that threatens the very pillars of the original hip-hop culture, knowledge of self and knowledge of God.” Their sound is generally underground with a strong battle rap energy prevalent throughout these hook rich offerings. “Ins And Outs” is the most infectious of grooves on this CD using a driving percussive Latino vibe whilst the battle against shallow MCs continues unabated. Like a gadfly, LPG are intent on provoking movement, they seek to see change in the overly commercialised and vapid pop culture. A diverse underground sound for those who like theirs in-your-face and gritty.
