Canadian husband and wife team Lorraine Rousseau and Robert Carlton's debut album sees the musical marriage of Lorraine's lyrical flute playing and Robert's versatile guitar. Relaxing and gentle without ever becoming bland, there are some tasteful jazz embellishments and this is generally instrumental music to soothe the soul. I have to confess that I love it when the duo let loose a little on the album's standout track, "From Now On" which has strong jazzy rhythms, some understated Hammond and some excellent sax from Vernon Dorge - stonking track! Another highlight is "Angel's Kiss" which takes the mood right down and features some beautiful melodies. Overall whether you like grown up instrumental music, a bit of light jazz or just something calming for the end of your day, 'It's A Mystery' should appeal.
