Not to be confused with early '90s American indie luminaries Luna, Luma hail from Scotland and play melodic guitar-led indie. This, their second EP, finds them seeking an escape into daytime TV ("I'd rather be doing nothing, instead of being here") on the title track, and then unleashing a squall of glorious guitar noise on "Lonely". I have to admit I was a little bored with the rather pedestrian "Where You'll Find Me", but then "Don't Hang On" came along with it's big chorus and joie de vivre, it's refrain of "choose people every day, cos where am I without love?" serving as a neat reply to the retreat into "chat shows and newsreels" described in the opener. Nice. The band is tight and cohesive, the music is broad, intelligent and ambitious, and the debut album will be worth looking out for.
