Mark Hannah is doing something unique, something surprising, something challenging. 'Beauty In The Midst Of Pain' is a 14 minute concept piece and if you've ever appreciated the work of Jim Steinman or you're into prog rock epics, then this is an absolute must get! Grandiose is the best word lo describe this magnificent production and Mr Hannah deserves to be congratulated for his breadth of vision and creative skill in making such an awesome inspiring piece. A journey through eight musical sections integrated with recurring themes in rock opera fashion. Thankfully it avoids falling into the sugary tweeness of the worst of Andrew Lloyd Weber though it does have a little of the epic sweep of a Lion King (in fact Mr Hannah has worked with Disney). Instead, Mark Hannah manages to provide a suitable setting for the redemption story with a huge soundscape of orchestra, choir, keyboard and FX. Vocalist Laura Fuino takes us on a poetic lyrical exploration of the two sides of humanity, the pain of life on earth and the beauty of eternal salvation. The total effect is nothing short of gobsmackingly stunning! As a bonus you also get the full 14 minute instrumental version. I can't think of a better way to spend quarter of an hour than to put this in your CD player, turn the volume full up, sit in your favourite chair, close your eyes and wallow in its luxurious beauty. Truly inspiring.

This composition is awesome. Think Hip-Hopera minus the hip-hop. This is one of those epic songs that you should listen to all the way though (it is broken into tracks, i think) and pay attention to the music and lyrics. I bought the CD and love it. The instrumental is also included and is nice, but the lyrics and vocals compliment the rest so well. Get it.
