Black gospel connoisseurs will recognise Mattie Moss Clark? A fiery vocalist in her own right but these days her age ensuring she leaves the vocals to younger larynxes. So it's a series of guest lead vocalists fronting a mass choir from the Church Of God In Christ that you get here. Recorded live at a San Francisco convention as well as those lead singers (Karen Clark and James Mitchell turn it up on "Cast All Your Cares On Jesus" while Carol Thomas wails herself silly on "Sing Till The Power Of The Lord Comes") you get 200 other voices, nine keyboard players and three drummers. The lack of vocal participation from Matriarch Moss, despite the star billing, is hardly noticed. Fiery stuff indeed
