Having raised her profile noticeably in the arena of prophetic worship through the release of the striking 'Relentless', and through a number of live IHOP events on God TV, Ms Edwards wastes no time in delivering a live worship venture, packed as it is with raw worshipful energy and creativity. Most of the nine songs on this hour-plus recording are Misty's own, the opening "Soul Cry" providing a tasty flavour of what is to follow - a yearning eight-minute edgy number based on Psalm 42, which invites a degree of focused audience participation. The anthemic "Rend", like "Lovesick", makes clear the worshipper's lovesickness for her beloved Jesus, a Bride and Bridegroom theme that centres on the romance of the Song Of Songs and which characterises worship output from Kansas City's IHOP centre (though theologically, viewing Christ as some kind of heavenly "boyfriend" in a one-to-one sensual relationship with the individual is spurious, being quite absent from any New Testament teaching). The seeming familiarity of the unhurried "Resting Place" stems from it being a stirring cover of Daphne Rademaker's 1991 offering on Vineyard Music. Similarly, "Take My Heart" is a '90s Vineyard song composed by Canadian John Janzen - an attractive tune with an infectious chorus, sensitively rendered here. Searing walls of guitar or, in distinction, delicate piano help energise or offer tenderness of mood to each track as required. The overall effect is a beautiful, varied and thoroughly engaging expression of worship to Him who longs even more to so engage with us.
