A pleasantly forgettable album that would sit comfortably on anyone's contemporary shelf - whether it would be dusted down and given a play more than one or twice a year is another matter. There is a very nice armchair dance track namely "I Ain't Got Nothin" which has the feet tapping two tracks in, but for the most of the album it's snooze inducing pop gospel despite the expensive production sheen. "Church Bells" have some lyrics that run truer than most - lyrics always being Mr. Cryar's forte: "Early Sunday morning/Fightin' with my indecision/It's the same old story/convenience or conviction." The title track is a funky number with some interesting horn arrangements and female background vocals that give it some credibility. For the most part though a pretty unremarkable production.
