Numbered With The Transgressors is literally a one man band; the name refers to a prophecy which Jesus said was to be fulfilled in him, Luke 22:37. Zack Plunkett, best known as guitarist for Abated Mass Of Flesh, is the sole member of this side project. The genre is best described as brutal death/grind metal. The label Sky Burns Black Records "specialise in underground metal, hardcore and punk with a message of truth, hope and love that overcomes the darkness with the Light of Christ." I am a fan of a wide number of metal genres but in all honesty I have to say I found all the tracks ran into each other with increasing tedium. The five songs on this EP are musically repetitive and you long for subtle tempo changes and musical accents that never materialise. It's a good thing I had the lyrics because the vocal was buried in the mix sounding like a deeper version of the Predator speech from the film of the same name. The lyrics themselves vary from apocalyptic carnage to a post-mortem and I struggled to find any deep spiritual enlightenment even after a number of readings. Now I won't dispute that someone who was a bigger fan of the genre could make a better assessment of the attributes of 'Commencing The Mechanics Of Dismemberment'. The album lacks any truly memorable music and its message is confused at best.
