Despite the production of some of the instruments being a little basic at times, this is still an album of 10 excellent self-penned songs by young Olly Knight. He's has been working hard around the Canterbury area and it appears that his music is being noticed, and rightly so, as every song on this album is a highlight. The band play very well, from catchy percussion and driving bass to delicate strings, piano and acoustic guitars; it is an eclectic mix of Coldplay-influenced rock songs and ballads. The excellent meditative tracks have you stopping whatever you're doing and listening; in particular "Avalanche", "Faith", "Holding You" and the African flavoured "Shed The Sorrow". Then you find yourself drawn into the rockier tracks such as "Change It Over" and "Colour" with Olly's soaring yet tender vocals. I thoroughly appreciated this album, enjoying its variety of styles and overall quality of the songwriting, coupled with its thought provoking lyrics. There are also a couple of bonus tracks tucked in at the very end. Very good and well worth checking out.

8 blocks/squares out of 10, well done. The band should be renamed something with a new hard flavour, but without alienating the old OllyKnight fan base....something like "The Olly Knight Experience", or "The Olly Knights", or "Sergeant Olly's fulfilled hearts club band"? up to you really....
