The name Peter Jackson will, for many, conjure up memories of sitting in Gospel Crusade meetings, maybe even in a circus style tent, listening to the most accomplished piano playing they've ever encountered. This virtuoso of the keyboard has, over many years, won a place in the heart of everyone who's ever met him. 'Classical Gospel' is a collection of well-known hymns and worship songs given the Jackson treatment. Whether it's the fluid lines of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"; the passion of "Master The Tempest Is Raging"; the delight of "Happy Nocturen" or the unadulterated fun of "Mozart Goes To Sunday School" - each track displays tremendous musicianship. Perfectionists may knock the quality of the recording and purists take exception to the tongue in cheek references to the "great composers" but this album is a delight and a challenge to budding keyboard players everywhere.
