Reviewed by Stephen Luff This is Nebraska-based Rachel's first major recording, having cut two projects with the small Summerland label, 'Home To Me' and 'Rachel Scott: Christmas EP', promoting them while travelling with her pastor husband Greg. Clearly this ground laid has borne fruit, as 'Resolution' shouts compassion, worship and a transparency which easily connects with the listener. The album opens with "Life Won't Pass Me By" setting the vocal style of a cross between Sara Groves and Nicole Nordeman, as Rachel states that she is so alive that she will dive right in. Track two, "Seven Fifteen", demonstrates in a big way how good a songwriter Rachel is with a melody that sticks with you. Other standouts are "The Least Of These" which reflects on our reaction to the poor, the naked and the hungry ("Is it Christ you see in the least of these?/Maybe that's what is intriguing to me/And I want it to change me") and "Come Back To Love", a deeply personal song. All in all, this is an exceptional album which could well launch the singer/songwriter to national and even international popularity.
