Revive Church, formerly New Life Church, in Kingston upon Hull is blessed to have as their leader Jarod Cooper. Those who are well versed in the development of modern worship will know that Jarrod has written the classic "King Of Kings, Majesty" and indeed on 'One Hope' there's a version of his 2005 song "Faithful God", a lilting contemplation of Exodus 34:6 ("You are faithful, compassionate and kind/Slow to anger and rich in love"). But as evidenced here, Revive Church today has access to a whole team of singer/songwriters and Paul Hemingway, Susan Bower, Phil and Heather Buston and others all contribute memorable new worship songs to this set. They are offered here in neatly produced studio versions by Andy Green. Several songs and recordings are good but the absolute standout is "Your Love" (otherwise known as "Worthy Is The Lamb"). It was sung at this year's Spring Harvest and is a wonderfully uplifting mid-tempo celebration of God's love, written by Heather Buston. "Your Love" deserves the widest possible exposure and shows that this Holy Spirit empowered church has again started to break through with some exceptional worship music.
