Out of Baltimore-Washington DC, this guy describes himself as an insatiable word junky - and he ain't kidding. With a varied body of work behind him, both as part of collectives and on his own, what you get with Syntax is straight down the line rap without the whistles and the bells, but with plenty of heart and a lot of innovation. Decidedly hardcore and quite dark sounding in places, but with brilliant use of samples, 'Simple Moves' is not at all commercial, but lovingly assembled with the purist in mind - and the purist gonna love it.
