From just listening to the 'Hey You I Love Your Soul' album first time, I didn't even have to read the lyrics to see if they were compromising or not. All the songs are obviously Christian. With quite a change in style from their previous album they have managed to still get that 'Skillet' sound, thanks mainly to John Cooper's unmistakable vocal sound. There are quite a few different styles on this album from the more Prodigy feel on "Pour" to the epic ballad songs such as "More Faithful" which is my personal favourite. At about the second song of the album you start to hear that the band has turned to the more electronic side of recording, with programmed drums and quite a lot of sampled beeps and vocal sounds. This in effect does make the sound lose its natural live or real feel. Luckily it hasn't lost the saturating distorted guitar which gives that 'big' sound and no shortage of guitar riffs and solos. With the added bonus of the Audio vision Enhanced CD which allows you to put it on your computer you can see videos, interviews, lyrics and more. A good album all round with a bit of everything!
