If the picking' up in them thar hills is really as good as this, then I for one wouldn't mind spending a couple of weeks sitting on the porch with my ol' acoustic string box, 'cause this is quite wonderful stuff. Droning dobros, furious fiddles and even awesome autoharp blend together with an acoustic army to bring us a great selection of old hymns and gospel songs. It would be easy to pick holes in this kind of series, however, you can't fault the music itself...and that, after all, is why you buy the disc. So if you want music that is exactly what it says it is then get Smoky Mountain Gospel for some, errr...well, some Smoky Mountain Gospel.
