Commencing brightly with a promising, picked guitar riff, the title track from this Midlands-based outfit starts on a high. Sadly, the tracks on this debut EP do not really build beyond this opening and suffer from several flaws that make it a difficult listen. Joe Bent, who plays most instruments on this stripped down and raw recording struggles at times to keep in tune and has issues with timing as he regularly stumbles over lyrics that do not always fit into the meter of the songs. Guitar work throughout the recording shows skill and talent, but the quality of the songs included here is limited. Far too many tracks repeat short phrases that grate after a while. Joe is open and forthright about his faith and the lyrics of "Invisible Children" are thought provoking and lift what is the best track out above the rest as he reflects about the forgotten victims of war. This band has only been around for just under a year and whilst showing glimpses of promise need to make sure any future recordings have a little more variety if they are to capture the listener's interest. Care must also be taken to improve the delivery of the lyrics which at present is the album's biggest detractor.
