The Good Fight hail from Belfast, Coleraine and Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland and show plenty of promise on this debut release. Emotive songwriting and an indie rock sound are combined effectively to give these boys a solid platform to build on. Think along the lines of Coldplay or early Radiohead and you will get some idea of their sound. They make good use of dynamics on the epic "Beechclose" and "Petition". "Some Things Are Just Not Better" displays a rockier edge to the band. The band show the experience of touring by sounding focussed and together musically, while the vocals are clear. The production is about what you would expect for a low budget recording, but each element of the sound is easily distinguished. An above average debut EP.

I haven't heard this EP but I've been listening to The Good
Fight's new material on Myspace, which is really, really
good. All the promise identified by Graeme Crawford here has
been realised and not a trace of low-budget production
anymore. They will be big, without doubt.
