There are of course literally hundreds of recordings of George Frideric's masterpiece available and this one by The Oregon Bach Festival Choir And Orchestra conducted by Helmuth Rilling isn't the greatest you've ever heard. But it's still nicely recorded with soprano Sybylla Rubens and bass Thomas Quashoff being the best of the soloists. From the opening The Promise Of Redemption through to that magnificent Part Three, The Testament Of The Redeemed, this is an epic work which will inspire hearts for hundreds of years to come.
