Once known as the Roman Catholic Gospel Choir their name change has become necessary as they've spread their denominational net. With over 50 voices and a six-piece band, the largely white UCGC are doing sterling work and this live set, recorded last November al Belle Vue Baptist Church, Southend-on-Sea has bags of atmosphere and an exuberant approach towards praise and worship which in concert would warm even the coldest heart. On record it's less effective. Too many cover versions (unwise to try and do the "Oh Happy Day" classic) and one or two less than Grade A lead vocalists stop complete enjoyment. But this is still a tremendous pioneering work of God.

How can I contact the united christian gospel choir? I used to be a member 14 years ago when it was in it's infancy? BB

I do not understand why it is stated that your choir is largely white. Does it mean others wishing to join and are not white should beware?
