Nobody has quite the classy touch with R&B gospel as the Winans Brothers, and this latest set has all those fulsome harmonies and goose pimple-inducing switched leads which have elevated the Detroit family group to the top of the tree. The opener "Paradise" is a sinuous delight while the revival of "The Question Is" effected me with a wave of nostalgia as I remember reviewing the original version on 'Introducing The Winans' back in '81. Personally I'd have liked a couple of funky upbeat numbers on 'Heart & Soul', most of the songs here are of the slinky ballad variety but it's still a heartwarming sound on offer guaranteed to touch hearts aplenty.
