If you’re looking at getting into great gospel soul music, look no further than Tiffany Laing. This album, dedicated to the lost sheep, declares, “Let’s return!” The title track is smashing, proclaiming “Return to me/I’ll return to you/If you change your ways/I’ll take full control/If you just let go/So come on and change/Turn around.” This second release from another so-called Queen of Gospel Soul is an epic album inviting the listener into the life and ministry of the artist. Assembled with an array of talented musicians and vocalists, like bassist/producer Andrew Gouche, Myron McKinnley (Earth Wind And Fire) and others, this is Laing’s best CD to date. “He Lovez Me” is another track that stands out, with its funky bass line and soulful melody. Its slow prodding lyrical approach gives you time for reflection on exactly what is being said with the lyric: “Be of courage/‘Cause he loves me.” The album exudes much of the same, soul-filled, relaxing vibe throughout. So light some candles and chill to the tunes of Tiffany Laing.
