Tragic Hero from Camden, New Jersey, describes himself as a family man whose simple goal is to positively impact his city and surroundings through the power of pure hip-hop. His debut 'My Own Worst Enemy' has been critically acclaimed and was described as "honest, gritty and uplifting," peaking in the top 20 of iTunes' hip-hop chart. Don't be fooled by the seemingly under-stated and gentle "Intro"; it shows the emcee to be a gifted storyteller. There is an array of styles and assorted musical underpinnings here with "Winter" having some memorable couplets ("Everybody wanna rule the world./When you look for validation from somebody else/Then you become a slave"). There are a few guests with Christon Gray adding vocal poignancy on the understated "Try Again". From start to finish the delivery and production is invigorating and the flows creative and challenging. Definitely an album to check out.
