Singer/songwriter Maria Evelyn is best known to UK music buffs for her work on a couple of projects with guitar virtuoso Chris Pusey. Now she's teamed up with producer Gerard Johnson. This three-song demo single offers a catchy title track, with a spikey guitar intro and a touch of Blondie about the performance and arrangement, and another original "The Land". The third track though, an attempt at a contemporary update of the hymn "To Be A Pilgrim", doesn't begin to work.
