I was such a huge fan back in college of Christian music but always had a feeling this was going on. I'm sorry for all the things that you went through but look how God takes something from our past we'd like to bury and makes it into something beautiful. God Bless!

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting John James twice at my church. What an inspiration he is to all us struggling Christians. Few of us at our worst could have lived the life he did and come out shining. Gods Not Dead is an incredibly inspiring movie.

I have the pleasure and honor of calling this gentleman my friend! It's not the fall that counts it's what you do when you get back up. He may not have " the toys " now, but of this I am sure; his rewards and treasures are stored for him in Heaven. A humble, quiet, quite funny, sensitive Man of God he now lives to Evangelize the Word of God, to transform lives through his testimony.
If you represent a church and are reading this post, reach out to him, ask him to come to your church and sit back, relax, enjoy the Word of God and watch lives transform in your church.
Armando A. Santelices M.D.

Thanks for the testimony, Armando! Glad to hear/see what God is doing through a humble servant who hasn't allowed past defeat to hamper God's present & future work through him. I've looked before for a FB page or other way of keeping up with/contacting JJ. Is there a public one? Thanks!!

I am so blessed to have heard these stories, and to get to know the news boys. Love the movie GODS NOT DEAD. I could t tell you all the blessings in my life, but I was a meth addict, and all the other sinful parts that come after living with satan.(meth) I am a blessed, sober wife with 6 awesome kids and four amazing grand kids!!! This year I made it to 45 and I am amazed! And deeply greatful for Jesus Christ and the His great sacrifice. I have never been so happy and peaceful, just knowing the pure love of God , wow, it blows me away! God is great all the time and all the time God is good

My dream had always been to be a signed recording artist but it was never God's plan. I did get to hold services for four years at a men's rescue mission where I was given liberty to use my talent however I needed on my own. It was a great experience and I made a difference and great friendships.

As a young woman, I had lived in public housing. God used that experience to make me a parole officer, which has been a challenging and rewarding career.

Although I still would enjoy having opportunity in the music industry, I'm hearing these stories about how at times the Christain industry has lost focus itself. I am thankful that the men I ministered to at the mission may be in Heaven one day because I reached out when they were at their lowest point and there was no ticket or sale involved. Just sitting on the pew offering a word of encouragement.

The world has a lot of sayings, about building character, about being a man, about being godly; But, what does the bible teach us about those things ? It teaches what John James learned and so many who have left comments. To be a Godly man or woman of character we cannot be better than our Master ! At the last supper Jesus washes his disciples feet in an act of servitude. Peter protests in his arrogance and Jesus foretells Peter denying him 3 times. Peter in more arrogance says NEVER !

Well we all know what happened. But without this massive failure Peter would never have had the character to proclaim the Gospel as he did.

Paul the same story. From persecuting and murdering Christians to proclaiming the Gospel with the same fervor but with the character developed through massive failure.

Until we have become completely and totally broken by GOD's permissive will we haven't really learned how to be a servant worthy of washing our Master's feet. And until we are the lowest we don't really understand what character is.

Character is what GOD turns us into when we have nothing left ! but him, nothing to live for ! but him, nothing to proclaim or be proud of ! but him and nothing we desire but him !!!

I could tell my personal story as to how I KNOW this is true but that isn't the point. As a t-shirt I have says below a picture of an old fashion nail dripping blood. "his life was not pointless - neither is yours !"

Hang in there !!! GOD had excruciating pain and so will you; But Jesus' pain gave us everlasting life with our Lord and he will be faithful to complete a good work in you !!!

I came across this article by browsing pictures of the Newsboys and was completely blown away. Some might say it was a chance discovery to find this article, but in my heart I know it was a total God thing. I've played drums for 20+ yrs now (I'm 28) and it all started from playing in church. I grew up in a very strong roots Christian home and found playing music for the Lord to be my passion. In my youth and still this day I listen(ed) to the NB. God is not a secret rox! As I got a little older I started playing in bars and clubs and living a very sinful lifestyle (Sex, drugs, rock n roll) Even my career in the Army couldn't keep me from partying and trying to live the "rock star life". Eventually my sin caught up to me and I was arrested for possession of illegal drugs. I lost everything: my career, my fiancée, my 2009 Harley Davidson FLSTSB, my home, and every dollar I had. My life was a disaster. I couldn't stay straight enough to get through probation and was sentenced to a very lengthy time in lock up. I did my time, same thing. Same results. Same attitude of pride and self sufficiency. I was drowning. Got hit with 4 felony cases this time. My music, the one love I thought I'd never lose was simply a memory of the past. Failure
Through all of this, even the times when I only prayed with "jailhouse faith" (when you only really seek after Him cuz it's all you've got and it's convenient), He was still right beside me. He carried me. He comforted me. He still comforts me.
I'm still dealing with the outcomes of my mistakes, but God has done more miracles in my life and revealed so much to me, that to deny Him now would make any man seem a fool. It's not coincidence. It's not chance. It's God. It's unquestionably, undeniably my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He's my reason, my purpose, my all. There is so much to tell of His grace and mercy and it's unstoppable as I keep Him first! He's a God of restoration and peace! God bless JJ and Mike R!

Today, John James preached in my church, THE HOUSE. His testimony impacted me. Some time we are very busy with the world things that little by little we have less time for our God. Then is when the enemy attack us.

We must have him in our prayers, he will testify many young people at the public schools here in Florida.
May the Lord Bless and Guard Him Always.
