I found out Janny's home going on my youngest sister's birthday. Janny went to be with the Lord on one of my late cousins birthday. Amazing. Cousin Paul and Janny are now with the Lord. Her ministry and music blessed me tremendously in the late 70's and early 80's. They still bless me today. In fact, when I was teaching in a Christian school, we did a chapel program base on the music from a church service that she did in April 1979 at Lott Road Church.
My sixth graders love her music as well. We all love you Janny!

Janny and Bill attended our church, Grace Fellowship World Distribution Center, many times and it was ALWAYS a treat to have them with us. Her voice, her delivery, and her passion for the Lord captivated me AND stirred my musical gift up each time she sang. She helped me understand the difference between ministering with your voice opposed to performing a song. THANK YOU JANNY. Her ministry still lives on in my life in so many ways. I appreciate her example. I'm sure she is rockin in Heaven--rock on!

In the eighties Janny came to Cape Town to minister in song and word. My husband and I were very blessed by her music and asked her to pray over us at the end of the evening. She prayed that the Lord would use us in the music ministry as we are both musicians. It has been a walk of many blessings, and at the age of 70 still making music unto the Lord. Thank you Janny, you were a great inspiration.

An amazingly anointed servant of Jesus. I always enjoyed her voice (alto range like mine), piano, guitar, simple, but to the point. Thank you, Jesus, for an active member of Your Body who ministered to untold millions of people. That Anointing lives on!! I made a cd for a newbie. She was "blown away" toward Jesus!! :D Does anyone know where in the Fort Worth area she is buried?? I would like to pay my respect even though I know she is rockin' on in Heaven!!

In April 1978 I was saved in a church in Melbourne, Fla. Janny was singing there that night. Covenant Woman was one of the first Christian albums I purchased. "Long Before the World" is still one of my favorite songs. I didn't get to meet her that night but we'll meet when I get home. Thank you, sis.

When I got saved Janny's music was the first Christian Music I heard. It was nothing like it in the world. Because It was all word. And It feed my soul. I'm sad to hear about her passing. If anyone know how I can get any of her older music please email me how? callonheaven@aol.com

I just started looking for Janny Grein after going through some cassette tapes that are ancient. So, I have a tape from when I became a Christian, 40 years ago. It is in cassette form.

Looking for a Janny Grein concert to worship the Lord and found this site. Sad that she is not here but forever thankful for the One that she shared her love for. Shalom!

I just read this posting that Janny passed away. I had not heard. I am saddened. Her music was such a blessing. What a beautifully unique voice filled with such sincerity and power. I remember having her music on LP many years ago. Actually, I was checking to see if her album,"Think on These Things" is still available in digital format. Does anyone know? May her loved ones continue to receive the comfort of Jesu and rejoice that she is safely at home with Him.

The Lord has been bringing "Wake up, O sleeper" from Ephesians 4:14 while praying for the body of Christ lately; to arise from the dead and for the zeal of the Lord to consume us. He brought back to mind Janny's songs which I became familiar with while attending Lakewood Church years ago. Janny and Bill used to come in the earlier days of that church to minister, we all loved her so. I hurriedly retrieved her CD and listened to "The Zeal of God" and literally the tears poured forth.........the anointing was still so strong on that album. She ministered; never entertained. Janny, a true psalmist always offered pure worship. As I have now found thru the internet about her home-going, my heart rejoices that's she's with her Beloved. I'm sure she continues to express herself in His presence with a fire that cannot be quenched.

Like so many others on this post, I have been thinking about Janny and her amazing song stronger than before here lately. I saw a friend had posted a video on her so I decided i should look her up and see how she is changing the world today. I was shocked and saddened at her death.
Its funny how we think those people who make such a big difference in our lives are so indestructible.
I saw Janny open for the Imperials at the Bronco bowl in Dallas in the 1970's. My mom always had her albulms playing in my house as she cleaned. I recently met her, 2009 and spent an evening with her and several good friends. As musicians we had a lot to talk about but as lovers of Jesus we were beyond words. A lot of laughter that night... I really loved her husband too. I thank God for her, her life and ministry. She lost a battle but WON THE WAR. Way to go Janny! We are all Proud of you.
