Dab and I worked on a number of projects together over the years. He was a tremendous influence on me ministry-wise and musically as he could touch you and reach the heart of God with a simple song.
he was a good friend for many years.

I was pretty shocked to hear just yesterday. I had no idea Dan was in town. We did a lot of good things together and he was the inspiration to go solo so I went from jazz rock in The Exkursions to an accoustic ministry . Dan could, at times, tap into God and his songs and words were directly to the heart. Danny also had a great sense of humor and could be really funny. A super talented writer/performer/ministrer. he will be missed but seen soon by some of us.

I heard that Danny went to be with the Lord last night.
I have not been able to confirm this. He was a BIG brother to me in 1970-71. Years later Danny showed up and did our Evening service. One of the last things he said to me was," I just wanted to make sure you were OK." He knew how mightily Jesus moved in New Milford and he knew how big our heads might get. That was Danny.....honest,direct and compassionate. When he saw our Lord's "pinhole" im my head he said he was satisfied. Danny had some tigers by the tail...one thing he never could do was GET US TO TURN DOWN THE VOLUME! Bless his heart.....if he has passed I am sure Jesus welcomed him home. Peace at last. To his nearest kin I offer my heartfelt sympathy. I know Dad went thru some tough times BUT now he rests,no more tears, pain and sorrow. See you soon Danny!

Hi Charlie Rizzo
Yes, Danny Taylor has gone to be with our Lord.
I'm the person who called your church (spoke to your sister) and sent an email to you last week.
I received an email from Scott Ross concerning Danny leaving this earth. Since Danny frequently visited Maranatha Church of the Nazarene in New Milford NJ. I decided to contact you.
This was very sad news to me. Because of a conversation I had with Danny and Sandra Taylor and Scott Ross, I am a born again Christian.
Much sympathy to Sanda, Dan Jr, Pam, Matt, and Amy.
Sincerely, Lisa Van Clief

I was profoundly affected by Danny Taylor and the 'New Wine Band' in 1971 (at the tender age of 13) where he lead worship during a coffeehouse. It was there that I first experienced Jesus in a personal way.

This is a note about Danny Taylor from Scott Ross, our pastor and founder of Love Inn Community in Freeville, NY during the 1970's where Danny was one of the early pioneers:

Hi folks,

This is just to those of you who were there back in the days of Love Inn, the Scott Ross Show, and the 700 Club band et.al.

Danny Taylor a friend, compatriot, and fine musician passed on to be with Jesus this past Friday, January 15th in Nashville. Danny had been laboring with a number of maladies over the last few years including heart disease, diabetes, cataracts and blindness. His short term memory had been failing.

His former wife, Sandra, and their children, Daniel Jr., Pamela, Matthew, and Amy were at his bedside when Danny breathed his last on this planet. Danny also has a daughter from a previous marriage and four brothers. He will be buried in a family plot in Kinder, La.

Danny and I shared a lot of life back in the late sixties and early seventies, traveling to and fro throughout the U.S, as he sang and played and I talked about the King & Kingdom. We still hear about the “fruit that remains” from those efforts after all these years.

Love,

Scott

I had the honor of hosting Danny in concert in Glassboro N.J. back in the 70"s and wondered what ever became of him. Iwould like to know if he still does any concerts and if he might consider coming here to Florida ?Danny"s ministry was one of the most blessed ever. May God continue to bless him greatly.

I became a Christian in the late 60's and began listening to Danny in the 70's. His music inspired me more than any Christian singer at that time. I would play my album over and over. It helped me to fall deeper in love with the Lord than I could ever imagine. I would love to have a CD of his music! My album got lost through the years and I have nothing but my memories of those beautiful songs. "Freedom is Only in the Truth" and "New Wine" were two of my favorites, as well as "Jesus, Son of God".

Oh, this is wonderful! Greetings to all the Taylor clan! I loved his music/songs in the 70's, and my hubby and I often sang the songs at church. I've been searching for the words to "The Girl in the Calico Gown." I can only recall the chorus - "I go waltzing in three-quarter time, with the girl in the calico gown. Yes, I go waltzing in three-quarter time, with the prettiest girl I have found." I think it was a love song to his wife, and was on an album that had Danny and his wife sitting at a candlelit table. I'm not sure the album name.
Danny was one of my husband's and my favorite christian singers back in the 70's, along with listening to Scott Ross, Phil Keggy, Justin Reese, and visiting "Love Inn" near Ithaca. I remember Danny visiting a coffeehouse south of us, where the tableclothes were made of paper. People doodled and wrote things on them. Danny walked around the coffeehouse, would read the words on different tables, and make up a song with them. We'd jotted down the line, "If you feel far from God, guess who moved?" and he made up a short song on the spot.
If CD's are available of Danny's songs, please let the rest of the world know. Would love to hear it all again.

Pamela: I was searching google to see if I could find anything on Danny Taylor. Wondered what he and your mother were doing these days. I used to live at Love Inn and was your fathers secretary up on the farm and baby sat you, and Danny and Matthew whenever your parents needed to go out. You won't remember me as you were all so little then (1970 - 1973). I loved your Dads music! Your parents were both so wonderful to me. I am glad to hear they are well. Would love to find some of Danny's music on CD. I still walk around singing 'Down by the River' often. It was a very special time in my life.
