Correction: Danny Taylor & Band was in concert with Gary S. Paxton in Kansas City, MO on 12/16/1977 (Not Barry McGuire). Ed H.

Hello all, I was 22 years old in 1977 when Danny Taylor & Band played in Kansas City, MO (I believe on Dec 16th 1977), He was in concert along with Barry McGuire. Danny introduced, then sang a story song that had the lyrics "A wounded bird, with a broken wing ... what love, what love" I would love to know the correct title and on which album it is on. I only heard the song once but was really touched by it and can still hear it in my head after all these years, but would love to get it on mp3 and listen to it. PS: I noticed a lot of people on here went to Elim Bible Institute in New York. I served with one of your collegues, a missionary named Bud Sickler in Mombasa, Kenya from 02-01-78 through 03-31-79.

DAnny Taylor used to work with WXRI and CBN in Va Beach, VA. I never cared much for his music (I was from a prior generation, am 68 now) until one night he sang Live at New Covenant Church in Hampton, VA. I was sold on his contagious love for the Lord and loved his music ever since. Yesterday I was cleaning out some old cassettes and found one that had some of his live album. What a joy to listen to him again. I also am interested in getting some of his music in MP3. We have been missionaries in mexico now for 24 years and still truckin. Blessings to all.

I remember the sweetness of Danny's music. Back in '71 he came down from Freeville and spent maybe a week at Maranatha. I remember he had an Ovation guitar before anybody knew what they were...he went into detail explaining it's unique features. As I got back into guitar in my late 40's I had such a strong tie to that time with him that I have only been able to bring myself to buy Ovations! MANY of them!

The fondest memory I have of Danny is a night he was playing at the church...MY new church as a new believer. My mother was scared to death of this Jesus Freak thing I had gotten into. I brought her that night to hear Danny play. She was won over by his music, and from then on was completly fine with my new-found faith. Thank you Danny for the huge effect you had on my 15 year old life. John (now 53).

I would love to get my hands on a CD version or mp3 of "Taylor Made" via the internet. Any chance of Rebecca or Pamela suggesting this possibility to Danny?

"Taylor Made" is the album I played and played and loved. We used to drive from Rochester to Love Inn to hear Danny and Scott Ross in the early 70's. We stayed with Lynn and his wife. Can't remember last names. Seeds sown over 35 years ago are still bringing in a harvest. God bless Danny Taylor for blessing so many others!

Hi Rebecca

I doubt very much that Matthew would remember me.
However, I remember meeting both he and Amanda for the first time, when I moved to Nashville-many years ago. Pam, Dan, Matt and Amanda were all children back then.
I had met Matt's bother Dan and sister Pamela, when they were both very young. Back when Danny and their mother Sandra, visited Maranatha Coffee House, Church of the Nazarene in New Milford NJ.

I became a born again Christian, after speaking and praying with Danny, Sandra and Scott Ross.

Please give them all my best.
God Bless.

Rebecca Taylor:

I am an early childhood Christian teacher in TX. Is there anywhere or anyplace I can find the music for Hey, Mon. My young students love this song and are trying to learn how to sing it. But, we do not have the music, only the words to the song in an old songbook in our classroom. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

I've been trying to find a copy of "Pamela" for a couple of years now to add to my iPod (I've got the sheet music somewhere in box of stored away things) along with songs from Barry McGuire, Second Chapter of Acts, Phil Keaggy, Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, and others from my college days in the 1970s. A college friend use to sing "Pamela" once in awhile and I also liked the song.

I grew up playing alot of Danny Taylor's songs back in the early 1970's. I still have all of his vinyl albums and some of the original cassette tapes. This was a devout Christian singer/songwriter who overcame his demons and had a phenomenal musical minstry. I was at the Carnegie Hall concert.

Pamela was one of my favorites, as my girlfriend at the time was named Pamela. I still have the original 1973 Lillenas Publishing Co. song book with lyrics and chords. Here are the lyrics. The chords are very simple, the song is very powerful. Is Danny Taylor still alive and performing?

Pamela runs with her back to the wind; searching for truth, the means to an end; Pleading for love at her neighbor's back door; Looking for peace in the cracks of the floor;

Chorus: Pamela's running away; Pamela's running away; Pamela's running away; Pamela's running away; Lord knows how long she'll stay; Lord knows how long she'll stay; Lord Knows how long she'll stay;
Pamela runs with her eyes to the east; wanting the most but receiving the least; Knowing there's more than the fight to exist; she runs to and fro for the way she has missed;Pamela's running away; Pamela's running away; Pamela's running away; Lord knows how long she'll stay; Lord knows how long she'll stay;

Pamela runs to the foot of the cross; And finally admits that she's hopelessly lost; She cries for the years that she's spent all alone; She's singing to Jesus; She's singing for Jesus; She's singing for Jesus; She's finally come home.

Pamela's learning to pray; Pamela's learning to pray; Pamela's learning to pray; Lord knows she's home to stay; Lord knows she's home to stay: Lord knows she home to stay; La; la;la;la;la;lala;la
