This is Sevin's debut album which covers a broad range of styles from East and West Coast to underground and Southern. Sevin's sound has been likened to "Snoop Dog and the late 2 Pac Shakur rolled into one". Overall I found this album to be much of an unimpressive muchness, but hey! the boy's young, can rhyme and flex the intellect so I expect time will play on maturing his sound.

Sevin is the greatest rapper to ever do it. I mean the man sings his own hooks and songs! He's the most versatile rapper ever. He has more songs then Tupac that's never released. I met the dude from studios to shows he a real servant of the Lord. He has mastered a lyrical talent twisted with the gospel that never sounds cheesy or fake! He's top 5 of all time!

Well really what it all balls down to is this... in the word Paul said "never the-less the gospel is being preached" so our job is to pray for Sevin and let JESUS use him for his glory.

Are you kidding? This CD is probably the greatest representation of what Rap should be: Provocatively Aggressive, Entirely Intimate, Steadily (but not constantly) Reflective, From the Obvious Heart of the Artist, Genuinely & Impressively Poetic, all Wrapped inside of one of the most Phenomenal Talents the Industry has ever seen. You compare him to Pac and Snoop, then turn around and say he is average, but shows potential? Listen, there is nothing average about this CD. It may be overly pushy and very indulgent (i.e. I'll admit the young man is a bit of a braggart), but that is the nature of all youthful, passionate music. The difference with Sevin is he sees himself as weak, confused, and desperate. That is what separates him from his contemporaries. Others have similar talent (vocally, I have yet to find a better lyricist), but no one I have ever heard matches his intensity together with his vulnerable authenticity. This is possibly the rawest and most head-jerking album no one has ever heard. Shows potential? Well, that’s better than what I can say for this indecisive and incomplete review.

The best rap album I've ever heard! Seriously, this album is better that any other christian or secular rap album I've heard. Sevin has his own unique style, which is refreshing. Most rappers today just try to sound like other major secular rappers, but Sevin is in a league all his own. I've heard All or None, Father Forgive Me, Feel Me, and other albums by Sevin and they are all great. His music only gets better. The beats hit hard and the lyrics hit home.

I think Seven has talent, but all too often you have to try and decode the song to find out that it is about Jesus. Some songs dont even seem to be representing Him at all. I definately dont like the fact that he uses cuss words in his songs. You can reach the other side without being crude. I do think he may be bridging the gap for some folks, so thats good, but how do you think some of those lyrics using the "N" word would go over in Church....how bout in from of Jesus." Here is a list of hip hop artists that do it well and when you hear the song, you know its about spreading Christs message:
Young Joshua
Flame
Da Truth
The Ambassador
Theory Hazit
Lecrae
Trip Lee
Tedashi
Sho Baraka

I aint hating on Sevin. Just think his message could be a little clearer about Christ and less about the block.

YOU HAVE TO THINK..SEVIN IS TRYING TO REACH THOSE THAT THE CHURCH CAN'T AND TO DO SO HE MUST GIVE THE GOSPEL TO THEM IN A WAY THEY CAN RELATE TOO. I'M A MEMBER OF THE HOG MOB WITH SEVIN SO I CAN TELL YOU PERSONALLY HE DOES NOT CUSS IN HIS MUSIC. THE BIBLE SAYS TO JUDGE THE PROFITS BY THEIR FRUIT AND I CAN TELL YOU AS AN ARTIST WHO TOURS WITH SEVIN AND HITS THE STREETS WITH SEVIN, HE BEARS FRUIT...AND A ANNOITED AMOUNT...GOD IS DOING CRAZY THINGS THROUGH THAT MAN...IN THE STREETS ASWELL AS IN THE CHURCH...HOG MOBS WAY OF REACHING OUT I WILL AGREE CAN BE VERY RUGGED AT TIMES BUT AGAIN PLEASE UNDERSTAND WHO WE ARE TRYING TO REACH. THE CHURCH WILL NOT GO TO SOME OF THE PLACES WE GO TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OR SOME OF THE PLACES JUST WONT LET ANY AVERAGE PERSON WALK ON IT WITH THEIR BIBLE AND SUIT ON AND PREACH TO THEM. EACH MEMBER OF THE HOG MOB HAS PERSONALLY LIVED THE LIFE STYLE OF THOSE WE ARE TRYING TO REACH THERE FORE WE KNOW PERSONALLY WHAT IT TAKES TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM WHICH IS WHAT WE ARE DOING. JUST LIKE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WHEN THE APOSTLES SPOKE IN TOUNGUES AND NEW LAUNGUAGES THEY DID NO KNOW TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE PEOPLE, WE SPEAK THE LAUNGUAGE THESE PEOPLE WE ARE TRYING TO REACH KNOW AND WE ARE TRYING TO REACH HARSH AND RUGGED NEIGHBORHOODS AND PEOPLE...I HOPE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SEE A LITTLE BETTER AS TO WHY WE ARE WHAT WE ARE AND HOW WE ARE....BE BLESSED

GRACE AND PEACE

Well, i feel the same way about the "N" word as you, it shouldnt be used so often in christian music. However, some people have different convictions as others do. For example, the skirt issue. It speaks specifically in the bible that woman and men should dress differently. However, not all churchs are exposed to this revelation. Some are never even aware of all that God has outlined as respectable anbd right behavior. So, i say all that to say this. Sevin does bridge the gap for many lost souls out there. Me personally, i dont mind so much the usage of the N word in his music. Not because i support profane lyrics, but because its really the only word i hear used, and its not out of context when he does choose to say this word. Anyways, its good to hear that people actually know who sevin is. Im from sacramento, but live in va. So im trying to spread the word. He has talent, and so far everybody ive let listen to him has asked for much more then i orriginally gave. Its helped bring a friend or two to church as well. Lunch breaks over, gotta run.

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of the Christ Jesus. I have listened to Sevin since his Debut and the first album is so powerful.

As Christians our role is to go to the darkest part of the World and let everyone know about Gods Love. He has done just that! In Jesus Name Amen. (so be it)
