Singer/pianist Ginny Owens to release 'Say Amen' project

AMERICAN singer/songwriter Ginny Owens will have her latest independent album 'Say Amen' released soon in the US. The project "chronicles music of faith from the past three centuries." The title track was co-written by Owens and Ronell Ragbir, a 21-year-old Trinidad native who was receiving treatment for cancer at St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Said Owens, "The record is a collection of original material, old Shakers and spirituals, well known hymns and modern versions of old favourites. Initially, it was going to be a simple project of hymns for friends, family and fans who have encouraged me to make such a recording for years. But after nine months of work, the project had become something bigger."
