Back To Basics are a Scottish six piece who have produced a 4-track single that whilst it may not set the world on fire, also won't have your cassette player running out of the house screaming in agony, pleading for a Take That tape! It's well recorded but suffers from that age old problem of nearly all amateur/semi-professional British Christian artists - "Longsongitis". A disciplined three and a half minute song can often say more than one twice its length. "So Tired" and "Power Of Love" are the two best songs with Allan, the lead vocalist, sounding uncannily like Cliff Richard on some of his vocal lines. So, all in all, a reasonable first effort that would really benefit from a producer with an ear for 90s production and a pair of pruning shears.
