Reviewed by Mike Roberts This is a relaxing oasis of smooth jazz from a multi-award winning instrumentalist and producer. Predominantly instrumental, this is the first album that Ben has performed and programmed all the instruments on - not just the keyboard tracks. Ben's testimony is fascinating; upon giving his life to the Lord after a promising basket ball career was derailed through injury, God "placed an immediate anointing and ability" on him to play keyboards in "the smooth Kingdom jazz style. ." This album, and plenty of awards for previous releases, are a testament to this. This album is truly smooth in the 'Smooth FM' sense and, if you are a fan of this style, you will not be disappointed with this release. All instrumental performances are competent, stylistic and controlled. As a producer, Ben knows his idiom and crafts the sound beautifully - indeed, the couple of tracks that feature Shelly Massey on vocals could be considered a summary of the style. The tracks are all inspired by the desire to relax in God's presence and experience a little of Heaven's peace. Like most smooth jazz, you won't hear extended instrumental improvisations or boundary pushing chord alterations - but you will, as promised, be able to relax to the sound of a smooth jazz master.
