There's a desperate need for quality fax'n'info reference works in CCM and back in CR10 we ran a rave review of the pioneering work 'Reli-Pop Encyclopedia' by Hans Loeve. Sadly that on-going work has come to a halt and equally sadly this directory doesn't even come near to filling the void. What Dennis Preston seeks to do in Volume 1 is compile a directory under subjects and themes. Therefore you can look up a subject, say The Second Coming', 'Sin' or The Sovereignty Of God' and get a list of album tracks on that particular theme. This would be useful (if only for deejays wanting to compile thematic radio programmes) but falls badly down in that there aren't nearly enough albums listed. In fact the albums given Mr Preston's track-by-track analysis are completely arbitrary and seem to be limited to a few hundred albums in his collection.
