This is the fourth release from the youth worship ministry of the famed mega church New Life Church, Colarado Springs. It doesn't take much time listening to this before you realise this is not just another live youth worship album. It's loud, energetic and saturated in bone-shaking guitar riffs. Even as the pace slows, it's never introspective - with huge rock worship anthems. Good use too of more reflective instrumental sections. Lyrically these writers are not afraid to try something different here - take for example the line "sanctify me clean out my closet" from "Pleasing To You". I was concerned that the song "Overcome" might need to be renamed "Overdone", clocking in at over 12 minutes, but it works, interspersed too with quick fire testimonies. Main songwriting credits again go to the trio of Jon Egan, Jared Anderson (who had an excellent solo album out recently) and Glen Packiam. Paul Baloche contributes to "Good To Me" which has a bit of a Hillsong vibe with the female lead vocal. It's very much a recording of the band. It's hard to make out if the audience are singing along or not. I suspect they are as the applause is loud. More likely to appeal to devotees of Delirious? than Fanny Crosby. If you're more into Noisy Times than Quiet Times, this could well be for you and you'll be hearing tracks from this outstanding release on Cross Rhythms radio.
