Traditionally techno is not a genre of music that uses a lot of lyrics but recently people have begun to experiment more with adding words over the top of the traditional driving beats and synths. This album from American producer Magellan attempts to fuse the techno sound with '60s and '70s style rhythms and worshipful lyrics. Clearly he was trying for something unique. Unfortunately it doesn't work. In many places the lyrics and the beats don't fit and end up sounding stilted and awkward as on "Heaven & Earth", a track of basic ambient beats with the Lord's Prayer sung over the top by brother and sister duo Free Reign. The lyrics also seem to lack imagination with the language used sounding childish and far too cheesy like on the opener "Megastar". There are flashes of quality, for example the '70s feel created on "Calling" but again it is let down by the lyrics.

I think their music is meant to be simple and childlike, so that it is easy to grasp the idea of God's love! I think it's fantastic :)
