We might be spoiled for choice when it comes to worship albums these days but songs based on the Lord's Supper are few and far between.  Indeed, it is odd that there are hardly any modern versions of the Sung Communion at a time when so many new songs of praise are being written.  Gerald March seeks to rectify the matter with a melodic setting of the Anglican ASB service that was previewed at last summer's 597 Experience near Maidstone.  Subtitled 'Fresh Sounds For Today's Church', this admirable collection includes new arrangements of the "Gloria", "Sanctus" and "The Lord's Prayer" that merit investigation by any worship leader seeking to find new music that will keep the Eucharist at the heart of their church's worship in the new millennium.  There are useful instrumental versions on side two.  Piano/vocal scores are available from the same address.
